Studietrust invests donor funds into the academic careers of students who have lacked opportunities and yet have shown their mettle and their aptitude for further and tertiary education. To minimize the risk of failure we first need to know that bursary candidates have had sufficient information on what study programmes are open to them and how to correctly apply for places at academic institutions offering the relevant study programmes. For this purpose we are partnering with Investec Bank in operating a Career Information Helpline.
Once we have allocated and confirmed a bursary we have learned over the years that students respond well to personal attention and pastoral support. Our mentoring approach includes personal on-campus visits from our experienced mentors and participation in a Peer Mentorship Programme.
